Cloudfall: Night's Tale

Dec 032014

undefined

Cloudfall: Night's Tale is an exploration puzzle game about a young cloud that wanders into the forbidden, mysterious world of Cloudfall, where it will discover powerful abilities that will change the world around it. That power, however, comes at a price.

I'm happy to announce this new project Antonio and I are working on, now under the name Mood Oven. It's still in an early phase of development but we've already shown the playable demo at the Reboot InfoGamer show last month in Zagreb and reactions from the audience were overwhelmingly positive, which made us proud and motivated.

sIPXgames was there and wrote a beautiful article about our game :)

Our primary platforms are Windows, Mac and Linux PCs. Other platforms will be known when the project is further into development.

We expect the game to be ready towards the end of 2015.

Until next time, I leave you with this screenshot

New game to be announced soon

What is this? This isn't Mega Magnitude!

You're right! I teamed up with BitSerum to make a game for the 2014 Indie Game Maker Contest and we'll need your votes.

The game will be done and submitted by the end of June so you'll be able to enjoy it soon.

I'll reveal more information about it in the next post, but for now, let's just say that it's a relaxing, exploration puzzle game.

After making difficult and somewhat frustrating game experiences with Mega Magnitude and Bunny to the Moon, we decided to make something that is entirely opposite - happy, mysterious and relaxing.

Mega Magnitude is on hold till the end of June, so I can concentrate on this project, but I'll be back on it right after we're done with the contest.

New updates are coming soon :)

Mega Magnitude progress - almost feature complete

Release day is getting closer and pieces are falling into place in the last couple of weeks. In terms of programming features, the game is mostly done. Gameplay, various obstacles, ending, upgrades, objectives, menus, purchase process... all done.

I've also been doing some optimization tasks which are never fun but are still important. Now I'm mostly polishing things up and testing.

Graphics are in need of a major overhaul, but I'm next to useless in that area. Luckly Antonio, awesome artist, master of the atmosphere and half of indie dev studio Bitserum, offered his help, so thanks to him Mega Magnitude is going to look beautiful soon.

I'm posting this screenshot of Mega Magnitude in its current state so that you can point and laugh at it later when Antonio does his magic.

Mega Magnitude - and game ending(s)

May 052014

undefined

As you might already be aware, Mega Magnitude is NOT an endless runner, so this week I finished implementing the game's end cut scene and with that done, Mega Magnitude is one step closer to release.

I actually dislike endless games, so even though it might look or in a way play like one - the main focus of Mega Magnitude will always be the goal of escaping the collapsing building.

If there's demand for it I might add an endless mode, but it's not something I'd personally enjoy playing.

Also, there may or may not be an additional, hidden, ending(s) in there ;)

My look at the first RebootDevelop conf.

First ever RebootDevelop is over and I'm back in Split, ready to finish and finally release Tremors Mega Magnitude.

This weekend was crazy. I had barely any sleep but it was worth it. I met devs from countries in the region who make all kinds of cool games and also got to talk with some old friends as well.

The talks were good but the topics were all over the place which meant that there was something for everyone, but also that some of the talks weren't exactly useful for me.

I'd like to mention some cool games I got to play.

I'd like to congratulate the team (LGM Games) behind this soon to be released space adventure Starpoint Gemini 2 - they won the RebootDevelop Indie game award. The team is passionate and their game looks amazing. I only got to try it for a few minutes but I can't wait to play more. They even have Oculus Rift support which is awesome although there are still some improvements to be made in that area.

Underrail is a retro surprise for all Fallout fans. It's a turn based RPG with a great atmosphere, be sure to keep an eye on it.

Our neighbors from Slovenia, Dawn of Play presented their super polished, soon to be available mobile game Furries.

Awakening of Heroes - a MOBA game with cute graphics and support for iOS devices, it was nice to see and try it out and if you want you can register for alpha access at the official website.

After their successful Kickstarter campaign the Ironward team is hard at work to finish their first title - The Red Solstice. It looks and plays great, but I was unable to fully try it since the LAN connection wasn't available. Luckly, the demo is available at their site.

Announcing Mega Magnitude

Apr 212014

I am happy to announce a new game - Mega Magnitude
Those following my projects closely will notice that Mega Magnitude looks familiar and they aren't wrong because Mega Magnitude is a game formerly known as Tremors.

Mega Magnitude is a physics based apocalyptic action survival game in which you must escape from a collapsing building.

Well that's what it seems and plays like, but there's a deeper story behind the events happening.

The name change happened because several people commented that they thought my game was about a movie with the same name, even though it has nothing to do with it.

I liked the name Tremors but for the sake of clarity I decided to change it and I think it's even better.
With a new name I also created a new website for the game and this new blog that will cover all of my games past, present and future.

There's still some work to do so it's time to wrap this post up.
RebootDevelop conference is next week so next update is coming soon.
